Podgora |

After the earthquake in 1962 Podgora has completely turned to the sea. Its inhabitants preferred building of new houses close to the sea rather than redecorating old ones in Gornja Podgora. Building of the Adriatic Highway and strengthening of tourism were favorable to that. Important historical monuments are Svi Sveti church built in 1764 and Sveto srce Isusovo chapel, built in 1804 by Mrkusic family. Besides natural beauties, mild climate and rich history preserved in old buildings and hundred years old olive groves Podgora also offers rich historical, cultural, sport and entertaining life. |
